Director of Music and organist - Peter Lipman
Worship at the 9.30 services is led by a robed choir which is made up of 12 adults and 2 young people. Occasionally additional singers and friends augment our numbers. We have a wide repertoire, learning new Anthems every week. The trebles (and the adults too if they wish) can take part in the RSCM training programme. Since 1991 we have sung 95 services in other Churches and Cathedrals.
We rehearse once a week on a Friday evening during term time and some holidays before major festivals starting at 7.30pm until 9.00pm. We also practice 20 minutes before the services starting at 09.00.
Peter Lipman, who is a full-time professional musician, was appointed in February 2019 with a brief to increase the size of the choir and extend its repertoire to include contemporary music as well as traditional church music. We take choristers from the age of about 8 years onwards. Adults are also very welcome to join and we are currently recruiting to all parts (SATB).
