Who We Are
Who We Are
Berkhamsted Private Tuition Providing 1:1 Private Tuition to Students. I have been a teacher for the last 33 years including being a Head of Department of Maths Science and Computing. I have taught in state schools, colleges and Universities. I have worked in industry. I have trained teachers, teaching them to use IT in all aspects of their teaching. A few years ago I was made redundant from my teaching post and set up this company. I am an excellent teacher - my students tell me so as do Ofsted. This company was set up to bring this excellent teaching to students who don't have the best teachers in their classrooms. We teach your son's and daughters away from the distractions and poor control of the classroom on a 1:1 level to bring out their very best. Our tutors are Qualified teachers who work or have worked in the state education system and who want to make a difference to the pupils that they teach. These dedicated teachers work in their spare time to make a difference to your son's or daughter's education.

Where do we tutor?
Do you wish the tutor to travel to you?
We normally tutor within 10 mile radius of Hemel Hempstead, including the Towns of Berkhamsted, St Albans, Watford and the Villages of Kings Langley, Abbotts Langley, Redbourn and Harpenden. Lessons can either be arranged at your home, or if you prefer you can come to the tutors home. Choosing the correct environment can be important for your son or daughter. Some work best in their own home environment. All we need is a table with space to work, two chairs and access to the Internet via a laptop. (If a PC is required the tutor will bring one.)
Some students find it much easier to work away from home. In the Tutors home they feel more bound to work for the whole of the lesson without distractions. Most science work is normally carried out in the tutors home as it is more difficult to arrange suitable places to do experiments away from controlled facilities.
Science Practical Work
We believe in Practical work, to help the students gain the best grounding in Science.
"Learning science without practicals is the equivalent of studying literature without books.” Professor Sir John Holman, University of York.
We do experiments at every opportunity to help the students learn and remember. With so little experiments being done in schools, we try to redress the balance. Our science equipment grows by the week to ensure that as much of the syllabuses can be covered as possible. Most science work is normally carried out in the tutors home as it is more difficult to arrange suitable places to do experiments away from controlled facilities.
